Naiya (Gigi) Bermea Villegas became our precious angel in heaven on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014. She was only five years old. Little Naiya is now holding God's hand. There is no more pain or violence. She is now happy and one of the beautiful angels in heaven along with her great-grandparents. We know that she was on borrowed time. "but Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.'" Matthew 19:14 Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Richard Swift of Door Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Naiya was born on May 14, 2009, to Tanya Bermea and Nathan Villegas in San Angelo, Texas. She had just started kindergarten at Alta Loma Elementary School. She flourished at San Angelo Day Care and was very excited to be starting school at Alta Loma. Naiya will be remembered as a smart, talkative, vibrant and beautiful little girl. She loved to color, play the guitar and sing. She loved Disney movies and her favorites were "Frozen" and "Brave." She loved her mom, dad, her brother, Andrew, "Bubba" to Naiya, sister Karina and cousins Millie and Jay. She also loved to spend time cooking with her mom. She also had a special bond with her grandparents, Lito and Lita, and loved to going to church with them.

Naiya was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Antonio and Lala Lopez. She is survived by her mother, Tanya Bermea; brother Andrew (Bubba) Bermea; uncle Tyrone Bermea; aunt Tracy Ahumada and husband Jimmy; uncle Freddy Bermea and aunt Amanda Diaz; cousins Vanessa Bermea, Jimmy (Booboo) Ahumada, Serena Bermea, Joe Angel Martinez, Millie Diaz and Jayvion Williams; grandparents Fred and Susie Bermea; father Nathan Villegas and wife Carissa; sister Karina Villegas; stepbrother and sisters Adam Twardoski, Haily Upchurch and Maiya Twardoski; uncle Alexis Villegas; cousins Anastasia Villegas, Sebastian Villegas and Auralee Villegas, all of San Angelo; uncle Adrian Villegas; cousins Damian Rojas, Adrian Villegas Jr. and wife Rachel of Phoenix, Arizona, Ayanna Villegas, Navion Villegas, Christopher Mauldin and Leanna Mauldin; grandmother Elaine Villegas (Nanna) of San Angelo; grandpa Arturo Villegas; and other numerous cousins and friends. Also we would like to give a special thank you to Tristan Bogs from Logan's Roadhouse. Naiya, we will always love you and miss you until the end of time.

Fly - "Fly, fly little wing. Fly beyond imagining. The softest cloud, the whitest dove upon the wind of heaven's love. Past the planets and the stars, leave this lonely world of ours. Escape the sorrow and the pain and fly again. Fly, fly precious one. Your endless journey has begun. Take your gentle happiness, far too beautiful for this. Cross over to the other shore. There is peace forever more. But hold this memory bittersweet until we meet. Fly, fly do not fear. Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear. Your heart is pure, your soul is free. Be on your way, don't wait for me. Above the universe you'll climb. On beyond the hands of time the moon will rise, the sun will set, but I won't forget. Fly, fly little wing. Fly where only angels sing. Fly away, the time is right. Do now, find the light."
