CHERISH LILY PERRYWINKLE (DECEMBER 24, 2004 TO JUNE 22, 2013)

We, the comrades of Unit 1012, will honor and remember 8-year-old Cherish Lily Perrywinkle who died on June 22, 2013.

Cherish Perrywinkle, 8, was abducted on 06/21/13 and later raped and killed. Police have arrested Donald J. Smith, 56, in her murder. Smith is a registered sex offender who was just released from jail on May 31, 2013.

We, the comrades of Unit 1012: The VFFDP, will make her one of The 82 murdered children of Unit 1012, where we will not forget her. Let us remember how she lived and not how she died. We will always support her family members.

Cherish Lily Perrywinkle, age 8, went to be with her Lord and Savior June 22, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Cherish was born December 24, 2004 and her mom called her the Best Christmas gift. Cherish attended the second grade in Chaffee Trail Elementary School and loved to attend Paxon Revival Center Church. She loved to spend many hours drawing beautiful pictures that she shared with her mother and others. Cherish loved to play school with her sisters. She would be the teacher reading and guiding them. Her smile will be missed dearly and well as her great ability to tell jokes. Cherish had recently accomplished a big task of any child's dreams, learning to ride a bicycle without training wheels, which placed a huge grin on her face. Cherish would always tell her mother that she wanted to be just like her when she grew up. She would dress up in her mother's clothes and watch movies together. Cherish leaves her loving mother Rayne Perrywinkle; Step father Aharon Shaun Pearson; three sisters Lindsay Skye Hoy, Destiny Jane Perrywinkle, Nevaeh Grace Perrywinkle. Family will receive friends and family 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday June 27, 2013 at Paxon Revival Center Church, 5461 Commonwealth Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32254. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday June 28, 2013 at the church. Interment will follow the services at River Side Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
