IN LOVING MEMORY OF MIANA STEWART (NOVEMBER 28, 1990 TO OCTOBER 13, 2005)

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. – Romans 12 verse 15 (NKJV)

We, the Comrades of Unit 1012: The VFFDP, will remember Miana Stewart who died on this date, October 13, 2005 in West Virginia. We will have two prayers for her and her family from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer:

A Prayer for All Conditions of Men:
O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech thee for all sorts and conditions of men; that thou wouldest be pleased to make thy ways known unto them, thy saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for thy holy Church universal; that it may be so guided and governed by thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life. Finally, we commend to thy fatherly goodness all those who are in any ways afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, or estate; [especially those for whom our prayers are desired]; that it may please thee to comfort and relieve them according to their several necessities, giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

Burial of the Dead 1662:
ALMIGHTY God, with whom do live the spirits of them that depart hence in the Lord, and with whom the souls of the faithful, after they are delivered from the burden of the flesh, are in joy and felicity: We give thee hearty thanks, for that it hath pleased thee to deliver this our brother out of the miseries of this sinful world; beseeching thee that it may please thee, of thy gracious goodness, shortly to accomplish the number of thine elect, and to hasten thy kingdom; that we, with all those that are departed in the true faith of thy holy Name, may have our perfect consummation and bliss, both in body and soul, in thy eternal and everlasting glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Let us hear from her mother:

QUOTE: "Besides missing her every day, I also miss what I will never get to have. I will never get to see her go on a date or get married. I will never get to have a grandchild. That day changed my life so drastically. Why don't the politicians understand that this should be prevented from someone else going through? Don't let murderers out of jail early and support capital punishment," Stewart said. "Aren't the people and children of West Virginia worth it?"

AUTHOR: Mary Stewart is the mother of Miana Stewart's favorite color was purple. The 14-year-old was an honor student at Musselman High School with lots of friends. She loved to ride her horse. She played the violin and clarinet. She was active in her church, and one of her most prized possessions was a cross she wore around her neck, said her mother, Mary Stewart. Miana Stewart died as a result of injuries from being beaten and strangled during an Oct. 10, 2005, home-invasion robbery. Mary Stewart, beaten and strangled herself, managed to escape and call for help, but it was too late. The last memories she has with her daughter are those of being tied up and bleeding from her head after having been beaten with a bat and dragged down the stairs. As her daughter lay bound nearby, she watched as Miana was strangled with a rope, and she listened as her only child struggled to take her last breaths.

Unit 1012 knows your pain and grief and many of us from the Unit are Christians too. We can show you comfort as we rebutted those Anti-Death Penalty Christians in the State. See our rebuttal to them. We also hope that Marsy’s Law will come to West Virginia for some comfort.
